82.4 million people worldwide were forcibly displaced at the end of 2020, according to the UNHCR. Civil society is tasked with supporting people fleeing persecution, conflict, violence, and human rights violations.

How can organizations serving refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants leverage technology to help people find the resources they need?

See demos of four apps addressing the needs of refugees and immigrants during this Public Good App House event. Explore solutions for translation, supporting LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, and connecting your clients with vital information and resources.

Arrival Advisor by PeaceGeeks

Arrival Advisor is a free mobile app that helps refugees and immigrants in British Columbia find information and services to plan their settlement journey. Designed alongside immigrants, refugees, community service providers, and coordinating organizations, Arrival Advisor bridges current gaps in the accessibility of information for newcomers.

AsylumConnect is the world's first and only resource website and App focused on LGBTQ+ asylum. It provides a directory of life-saving services for those fleeing persecution due to their sexual orientation or gender identity in the US, Canada, and Mexico.

FindHello by USAHello

FindHello is an interactive service finder that connects refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants to local resources in communities nationwide.

Tarjimly's mobile app crowdsources volunteer bilinguals to provide free on-demand interpretation and translation services for refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and humanitarians working with them.

The public good app house events were started in 2016 by our Caravan Studios division.
