    About this event

So much of our daily lives take place online — we shop for groceries, read news, and connect with friends and family near and far in virtual spaces. The digital world is a vital resource for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, too, offering them access to crucial support, resources, and communities. Whether we choose to engage in activities online or not, our personal identity information can exist online. This information can be exploited by abusers to track a survivor’s location, monitor their online activity, or harass them through social media.

Survivors are often looking for ways to increase their privacy online. As advocates and service providers, it’s essential that we empower survivors with the knowledge to increase their digital safety, including sharing tools and resources that can help them meet their privacy needs. With the right cybersecurity measures, survivors can stay connected, access vital resources, and regain their independence, all while protecting their identity in an increasingly digital world.

Join us for an engaging session with experts from Norton and NNEDV (National Network to End Domestic Violence) to learn how to support survivors in navigating the digital landscape and increasing their privacy online. This session will provide insights into the critical role of cybersecurity in helping survivors stay safe while engaging online.
