Principles, tips & approaches for extracting insights from your database or CRM

Jul 31, 2023, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Most nonprofits struggle to extract meaningful insights from their database or CRM system and make the most of their data. In this session, two leaders in data science and technology — Claire Bénard (Meaningful Data) and Harrison Brown (Suru Partners) — explored how to approach data in your organisation, sharing their expertise and practical frameworks to gain value from your data.

About this event

More than half of not-for-profits face challenges when using their database or client relationship management systems Charity Digital Survey . One of the key challenges is to extract data out of these systems and — most importantly — turn that into insightful and actionable information which drives decision-making, processes and organisational strategy!

The core presentation was led by Claire Bénard of Meaningful Data and Harrison Brown of Suru Partners – two experienced leaders within the charity sector who discussed the:

  • challenges and opportunities of leveraging the data you collect from day-to-day operations and in service of clients and beneficiaries;
  • principles and tips for extracting actionable insights from your data, and for reporting to funders and other stakeholders; and
  • technology principles, approaches and tools you’ll need to do so efficiently and automatically, reducing manual work and increasing the efficiency of your operations.
