The use of technology for disaster response and emergency management has been forced to evolve at a rapid pace. As cities and states are facing an increase in disaster threats, technology presents valuable possibilities to help emergency managers take on the new challenges. This presentation will be discussing the value of technology in emergency management strategy, as well as cover technology used in the past, present, and future. 

Topics of focus include emergency alerting systems, public information, mapping, situational awareness, community preparedness, and communication. Each topic will be covered from the perspective of emergency management professional as well as a member of the general public.
