My name is Jerome Scriptunas and I lead a community nonprofit called Youth TimeBanking (YTB, YTBRN.org) and a TechSoup Connect chapter for timebanking and community organizations. My education is in industrial & operations engineering and social work. I have a graduate degree in Global Community Practice. Over my career I have worked in private industry, with state government, within a system of care, as a freelance business consultant, and now run a small nonprofit organization. YTB is a virtual, all volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Youth need more opportunities to practice skills needed full-time in adulthood. YTB provides community-building opportunities to youth and uses time, service, resources, and opportunity as currency in exchange. YTB is Community C.A.L.M. - Care, Apps, Learn, Make for Community. Care -- things we do with/for others in-person. Apps -- helping others with technology. Learn -- literacy and community knowledge. Make -- making things for/with others.
