Join us for an engaging introduction to AI insights and visual storytelling using Data Commons.
Would you like to learn how to use open data to support your work? Have a data story you want to share with your target audience? Curious how machine learning and AI can help you get new insights from your data? Join us for an engaging introduction to these topics with our expert panel, using Data Commons as our primary source.
Data Commons is an open-source initiative that aggregates thousands of datasets from hundreds of publicly available sources globally — allowing you to ask data-related questions in your own words. It organizes more than 250 billion data points across 250,000 variables of public data by taking on the difficult task of downloading, cleaning, normalizing, and joining data, ranging from government census bureaus to organizations like the United Nations.
With support from Google.org, TechSoup has launched and manages our Data Commons for Civil Society. All data is aggregated, freely available, and for non-commercial use only. We are partnering with organizations to make nonprofit / impact data more widely available and easier to connect with public data, such as the Aid Worker Security Database from Humanitarian Outcomes and the County Health Rankings from the University of Wisconsin. Soon we will be sharing out TechSoup's own impact data from serving over 1 million nonprofits over the past 20+ years.
