Around the world, nonprofits and other civil society organizations are figuring out how to effectively operate in a shrinking civic space. Whether it’s limitations on media freedom, right of assembly, or declining citizen participation, 27 to 40 percent of the global population lives in countries that have a repressed civic space.

In response to these increasing restrictions, new and creative forms of collaborations between social activists, social movements and other sectors are emerging.

This webinar, moderated by Nana Afadzinu of West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), explores how cross-sector collaboration can be used to expand civic space and promote social justice. You’ll hear from social change leaders working on multiple and diverse local problems who have stretched beyond the traditional structure of a civil society organization for solving our communities’ most pressing issues.
