About this event

Join us for an engaging Office Hours Q&A session designed for prospective applicants of the Cultural Memory Lab. This initiative, a collaboration between Gray Area, TechSoup, and the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, aims to empower community-based archives, libraries, museums, and other cultural organizations to explore decentralized strategies for preserving collective memory.

During this session, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the Cultural Memory Lab’s mission and objectives: Discover how this incubator and micro-granting program supports projects that leverage decentralized technologies to preserve stories historically excluded from archival practices.
  • Understand the application process and selection criteria: Gain insights into eligibility requirements, funding opportunities (up to $5,000), and the support provided, including access to Gray Area’s DWeb for Creators course and dedicated technical assistance from the Filecoin Foundation.
  • Ask questions and seek guidance: Engage directly with program representatives to clarify any doubts and receive advice on crafting a compelling proposal.

Whether you’re an organization aiming to sustain publicly accessible digital archives or a cultural practitioner interested in decentralized technologies, this session will provide valuable information to assist you in your application journey.

Don’t miss this chance to explore how the Cultural Memory Lab can help democratize access to history and enable diverse voices to construct a more pluralistic understanding of the past.

We look forward to your participation and to supporting your efforts in preserving cultural memory through innovative, decentralized approaches.

This event is supported by an award from the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web.
