Blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and NFTs. We hear these terms every day, but what do they really mean? And, more importantly, how can they open up new opportunities for leaders in nonprofits and civil society?

In this first in a series of webinars for nonprofit Leaders, Jason Shim will take you through the fundamentals and answer questions like these:

  • What are blockchains and how do they work?
  • What are cryptocurrencies and how do they work?
  • What functions do they serve in societies?
  • How do you buy, sell, store, and send cryptocurrencies?

The session will cover the answers to these questions, as well as detailing crypto donation programs, using NFTs for fundraising and stewardship, and showing how crypto enables faster donations from audiences around the world.

If this is your first introduction to these topics, Jason will give you a foundation to start bringing these conversations alive in your organization so you can begin preparing for the future of fundraising.

Attendee Bonus: To start applying these lessons quickly we’ve prepared a getting-started guide with hands-on activities and an explainer document that you can take and share with your organization.

This event is supported by an award from the Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web.
